Spencer Island County Park by KV7DX

Halloween activation of Spencer Island County Park,...Scary! 14.342 +/- at around noon PST. Beautiful County park nestled in the tidal flats of the Snohomish river delta. Lots of birds and wildlife. Park very underutilized and becoming grown in at the edges. Mostly utilized VHF for this activation, although I did make a couple HF contacts into the southwest US. Got a couple surprising contacts into the south Puget sound using a 5 element log periodic Elk antenna on a Jackite pole at 25'. The HF contacts were made on a Yaesu Atas micro screwdriver clamped to the side of the Jackite pole. Rig used was a FT 897 at 10 watts.
