HI8CAF

I was born in the Dominican Republic in 1982 and my first contact with amateur radio was when I was 8 years old watching my Father interacting with a citizen band radio and a homemade vertical antenna, but my father dismantled the station for some reason that I do not know. 24 years passed and then in 2013, I met my friend Omar Narpier HI8Y who took me to UDRA, one of the main radio clubs in the Dominican Republic, which allowed me to return to amateur radio. With the help of my second father Efrain Serra HI8EES, I passed my novice-class exam in October 2015 as HI8NCF and one year later my technical-class exam in November 2016 as HI8CAF. Since then, I have been experimenting with building my own antennas, I staying locally active in 144Mhz. Lover of DX in simple mode VHF and HF. I’m an active member of the Union Dominicana De Radio Aficionados UDRA, Radio Club Dominicano RCD and I am part of the staff of the Liga Dominicana De Radio Amateurs LIDORA as secretary. I am starting in the world of activations and hunting of the SOTA, POTA, and BOTA programs.
