Remarks:
Goolwa Beach is located about 67 km south of Adelaide. It is part of the Encounter Marine Park, VKFF-1707 for the World Wide Flora Fauna (WWFF) program. The name “Goolwa” means “elbow” in Ngarrindjeri, the local Aboriginal language. Goolwa Beach is a pristine white sand and surf beach. It stretches from Middleton to the Mouth of the Murray River. Goola Beach is considered one of the most hazardous beaches of South Australia due to persistent high waves, strong currents and the regular formation of rips. I activated the park as part of the VKFF Activation Weekend. I operated on the beach, using a Yaesu FT857, 40 watts, and a linked dipole. I made a total of 71 QSOs on 20, 40, & 80m SSB.
