Mad Dog Antenna Coils 80 - By Bob, MØMJA.

I purchased the Mad Coil with my own money and have no affiliation with Mad Dog Coils.
The excellent Mad Dog antenna coils are made in Australia by Marty VK4KC. There is a full range of coils to choose from in metric and imperial fittings. The coil is very well made and robust standing up to the rigours of activating in the field, in the months I have owned the coil I have had no problems at all in it's use or build quality.
Tuning is very simple and convenient, a great feature is to be able to purchase additional tuning rings. This allows them to be installed on the coil at different positions all at the same time allowing for quick and easy band changing by just moving a fly lead to whichever band you wish to operate on. I have 3 tuning rings installed on my coil generally in use for 80/40 and 20 meters and up. I use a 5.6 meter telescopic whip with the coil easily achieving a resonant tune on the bottom end of 80m digital frequencies shortening the whip as I move up the bands. The performance has been excellent on all hf bands, the customer service I received before and after purchase was also first class. Delivery to the UK took just one week from Marty down under which is quite amazing, there was no tax and duty to pay at the time making for a fantastically priced product with superior build quality compared to anything else I have seen or used. As a very busy activator the built in quality and thought that has gone in to this product is very much appreciated. Thanks Marty for a fabulous product.
