I Live on the Fabulous Gold Coast (hence the Callsign - Gold Coast Radio) here in Queensland. I'm retired and enjoy all aspects of Amateur Radio. A retired Offshore Electrical Mechanic having worked on Offshore Oil & Gas Installations around the World, I find the Gold Coast hard to beat. I also enjoyed Flying as a hobby when I was a bit younger having gained my private pilots license and touring around in a Cessna 172, but these days I find that pass time a little too expensive. Lucky I found a nice less expensive hobby like Amateur Radio. Well that's what I tell the Wife anyway. Hi Hi. ! I enjoy operating SSB (Rag Chew and Contesting) on the HF Bands including operating on Digital modes such as FreeDMR and YSF. My main DX Radio is now an ICOM IC-7300 (100watts only) set up for HF on 80m,40m,20m,15m,10m using a ZS6BKW Dipole Doublet Antenna. I'm also connected to the Hams Over IP Network and my number is 300130, so give me a call some time. Via this Network. - 73 for now !
